The poverty increased, but in order to dress it as reduced, government issued revised estimates adding 106 million persons to BPL list of 2004-05 in 2009-10! In agriculture, the Government on one hand stressed on 4 percent growth, but on the other hand, it reduced the public investment and subsidies to agriculture Employment generation always missed the targets due to the half hearted approach of Government.
