Aim the nozzle at the hottest part of the fire and release the gas. Usually a quick shot or two Of the chemical will decrease the intensity of the fire, after which you can advance sweeping the nozzle back and forth across the face of the fire for greatest coverage. Cautions - There are no particular cautions in using a dry chemical extinguisher. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to dis charge the chemical in a person's face.
