He married Clara Augusta Olson 1905 in Oakland, California. He was a son of Emil Oscar Olsen (1849-1927), who was born in Oslo, Oslo, Norway and his plural wife Anna Matilda Johnson (1858-1934), born in Risinge, Östergötland County, Sweden. Anna Matilda Johnson was daughter of Erick Gustave Johnson (1825-1907), who was born in Ekeby, Örebro Co., Sweden and Anna Jansdotter Skolin (1826-1895), born in Skedevi, Östergötland Co., Sweden. Early members of the Olsen family lived in various areas of Hedmark and Oslo Counties of Norway. Erick Gustave Johnson ancestors lived in various areas of Östergötland and Örebro Counties of Sweden. Emil Oscar Olsen joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with his mother, Elisa Olsdatter in 1863 in Oslo. Other family members joined later. He immigrated to Brooklyn, New York, in 1872. By 1878 the entire Olsen family was living in Utah. Descendants live in Utah, California, Oregon, New York and elsewhere. Includes autobiography of Erick Gustave Johnson.
