It is about the nature of the event carried out during the covenant established between God and Abram where God asked Abram to present five animals to ratify the promises he makes to him. That event is characterized by ceremonial rites which convey symbolic meanings wrapped up in different theological conceptions. The author attempts to introduce the readers into the story of the text by revealing the varying projected themes as well as narrow and eliminate the least likely related concepts while clarifying misconceptions associated with the event.
