The single movement sonata utilizes twelve-tone techniques, as well as the whole-tone scale, and the chromatic scales. Yet, the cadences of traditional harmonic progressions are present in the key of B minor. This study will explore the different motives that grow into the themes in each section of the Sonata. Also, I will address the difference between the dynamics and articulations indicated in the piece.
