Wivell's An inquiry into the history, authenticity, & characteristics of the Shakspeare portraits [W.a. 241] and its Supplement with the author's notes. According to one note: "Capt. Robinson has in his collection a female's portrait, which he dignified with the appellation of Mrs. Shakespeare, and reports that it once belonged to the Hathaway family."
