These stories form a bigger narrative that touch human rights, universal values and daily realities in these different cultures. It is a book based on the author's travels in different countries as a development aid worker and researcher. The book is divided into four parts. Each part consists of small stories from a specific country (i.e. Nepal, Kenya, Pakistan and Jordan) in the form of the author's firsthand experiences followed by fictitious stories that are based on real life. The firsthand experiences are based on the author's diary that she kept while working abroad, whilst the fictitious part is based on stories that she heard and people that she met during her travels.
