Book excerpt: In August 1965, the proportion of households in the United States with one television set or more was 92.4 percent. This was not significantly different from 92.8 percent found in the previous survey conducted in May 1964. However, the percent of households with two or more sets increased from 16.8 to 19.5, and the percent with one set went down from 75.9 to 72.9. This increase in multi-set households continues a trend plainly apparent in earlier surveys of the series.
