Join Rainey and his friends on wondrous adventures across the forest. And remember, if you see a forest animal at bay, it could be Rainey or his friends saying hey! In my stories, Rainey is the protagonist whose main characteristics throughout the novel are his huge heart and his yearning to prove his courage to the village he belongs in. In this story, Rainey’s village is short on supper and supplies. Because of this mishap, the strongest and the fastest deer of the village compete for the chance to become a gatherer, which is a respectable position in the village for they develop the skill and ability to travel to distant regions to retrieve food for the villagers. One main issue with becoming a gatherer is having to face the Metal Monster, which is essentially a train. The villagers are understandably afraid to cross the tracks and having to face off with oncoming traffic. Rainey and his peers come together and face their fears during a rough time. Rainey is a children’s book that teaches the importance of teamwork. This book should find an audience among families with young children and schools, day cares, and other venues that cater to the youth.
