Book excerpt: Excerpt from Report of a Survey of the University of Nevada On July 8, 1916, the Commissioner oi Education was requested by the governor of Nevada to undertake the direction of a survey of the University of Nevada and to report the findings to the educational survey commission created by the 1915 legislature of the State. The commissioner acceded to the request and appointed Dr. Samuel P. Capen, specialist in higher education in the Bureau of Education, and Mr. Edwin B.
