This is a problem that is seen across the United States. It is important that leaders find means to influence the improvements of schools so that all children can master standards and be successful. It is the responsibility of an instructional leader to teach every child in an effort to promote success. Leaders can influence the improvement of schools by identifying their role in the instructional system and getting parents involved in the education of their children. Finding strategies and using interventions that can enhance the students' learning will be beneficial for all stakeholders involved in the education of African American students. Today, schools are in need of effective leaders who can make a difference in the lives of the students they touch. Through the observations of administrators, teachers, students, and investigative research based on the study of what can leaders do to influence the improvements of schools, I will analyze all of my surveys to find out feelings, actions, emotions, and attitudes of those teaching African American students and how to best teach the students so that they can experience success and improve in academics.
